Naija News reports that the former Vice President touched down at the John F Kennedy International Airport in New York before traveling to Washington D.C on Thursday evening. Atiku was received by the Governor of Sokoto State and the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Aminu Tambuwal; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Minority Leader, Ndidi Elumelu and Senator Dino Melaye.

President Muhammadu Buhari has criticized the United Nations (UN) Resolution which expelled all foreign fighters in Libya, without first ensuring that they were disarmed. Suspected gunmen on Saturday stormed a funeral at Banigo Isile-Ogono community in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, and abducted several people. Information gathered revealed that some of the victims kidnapped at the event are identified as Sunny Hart, Thomas Allison and Theophilus Ibiama, among several others. Chairman of Bonny Local Government Council, David Irimagha and lawmaker representing Bonny Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Abinye Blessing Pepple, escaped being killed in the attack.
