'Many Agencies Will Be Scrapped'

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has revealed that many agencies will be scrapped while others will be merged as the President moves to cut the cost of governance drastically. Making this disclosure in a post on his official X account on Monday, Onanuga revealed that the President would adopt recommendations from Steve Oronsaye’s panel report submitted under the Goodluck Jonathan government in 2011.

'Southern Governor' Confirms Buni's Removal

A Southern Governor elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress has confirmed the removal of the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni as the Chairman caretaker committee of the party. There had been reports that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the removal of Buni as the chairman of the party. The Governor whose name was not disclosed in an interview with Daily Trust noted that he was at the meeting where President Buhari ordered the removal of Buni.

Anambra School Denies Complicity In Student's Death

The management of St Michael’s Boys Secondary School in Ozubulu, Anambra State, has denied complicity in the death of a JSS 2 student, Chimdalu Onyekwuluje. Naija News earlier reported that the father of the deceased, Prince Cornelius Onyekwuluje, had accused the school of negligence and high-handedness. Speaking with reporters during the burial of his son on Saturday, Onyekwuluje said the 11-year-old student died after the school management refused to release his son and failed to call him to come and pick him up after he fell sick.

APC Muslim-Muslim Pesidential Ticket Will Destroy Nigeria's Unity

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has said the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket fielded by the All Progressives Congress (APC) will jeopardise the unity of the nation. Naija News reports that the PFN General Secretary, Dr Cosmos Ilechukwu, stated this at a press conference held at the National Secretariat of the fellowship on Thursday in Lagos. Ilechukwu stated that the same-faith ticket fielded by the ruling party was not in the interest of Nigeria and will further destroy the country’s peaceful coexistence.
